About the position...
- The General Manager will have full responsibility for all aspects of the hotel operations. This includes guest and employee satisfaction, financial performance, sales and revenue generation and ultimately delivering a return on investment and overall growth in EBITDA/ GOP.
- We are looking for someone who is full of creative ideas and has the ability to motivate a team, as well as possessing strong financial skills, an understanding of e-commerce and a love of food and beverage, a critical element of all 1 Hotels.
- Through their own style and leadership the successful candidate will be pivotal in ensuring that this hotel and its business surpasses shareholders and stakeholders aspirations, ensuring the 1 Hotel Haitang Bay provides the next level of sustainable luxury in China.
- The successful candidate will work closely with the management team for the brand to help deliver all relevant strategies and company sponsored initiatives and, will lead the hotel team in the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of the hotels operations and business.
- Of course, a key element of a successful hotel is financial performance and this individual will work closely with the brand to ensure that they deliver superior guest hospitality while also delivering budgeted sales, profit and market share.
- The right candidate will not only be responsible for the successful launch of this hotel and leading the day-to-day culture, but they will be in charge of the look, feel and ambience of the hotel as a whole, ensuring that design standards are met, uniforms are on point, and that the guest experience is flawless throughout the entire customer experience. Requirements for Success...
- Develop and communicate a hotel operations strategy that is aligned with the company and brand and lead in its execution.
- Establish goals to optimize performance and hold the operational leadership team accountable for desired outcomes.
- Provide inspirational leadership to enliven the 1 Hotels Purpose and Compass and uphold our Core Values.
- Monitor guest feedback and performance data to optimize guest engagement and retention and take appropriate corrective action.
- Stay informed of market trends and introduce new products and services to drive guest engagement, increase revenue and ensure a competitive position in the market.
- Identify opportunities to optimize performance and create value by challenging existing processes, encouraging innovation and driving necessary change.
- Identify the developmental needs of others and provide opportunities for growth and development to maximize talent.
- Develop the hotel operational budget and monitor financial performance to ensure goals are met or exceeded and opportunities are identified and addressed.
- Ensure proper controls are in place and policies are established and followed by all team members.
- Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships and ensure direct reports do the same.
- Ensure regular, ongoing communication occurs (e.g. daily rallies, divisional/departmental meetings, attendance at regular and ad hoc hotel meetings).
- Recruit and select talented leaders and team members who will enhance the Hotel culture and demonstrate functional expertise; ensuring staffing levels are appropriate to meet business demands.
- Provide guidance and direction to all team members through coaching, counseling, mentoring, and reviewing performance.
- Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and inspire others; advocate sound business decisions; demonstrate honesty and integrity; lead by example.
