The primary responsibility of the Area Director of Revenue Management is revenue strategy and distribution for maximizing rooms and banquet revenues of the hotel. Ensuring Revenue Management standards; specific review and measurement of hotel revenue performance against established goals for multiple New York properties. Responsible for overall development and maximization of rate and occupancy. Strategically optimize segment mix of group patterns rates and transient rooms. Ensure measurable improvements for demand and availability and gain RevPAR share. Work with each department to develop property- specific strategies to ensure positive growth. Conducts analysis of citywide and Special events, implements Revenue Management strategies to maximize demand generators. Present revenue strategies, booking trends, and KPI to ownership groups.

Qualifications

About you...

  • Analyze and accurately forecast short and long term business trends and demands, Analyze trends in group inventories & rates to include occupancy, goals, product line and strategic sales goals.
  • Optimize and monitor marketing channels, national and local account production.
  • Ensure that all channels of distribution – Web, GDS, CRO, Wholesale – effectively support the hotel initiatives and strategies
  • Conduct a weekly Revenue Management Meeting to discuss and plan out strategies and actions by each market segment and sales channel: corporate, consortia, luxury consortia, ota, wholesale, direct, and group
  • Update all channels of distribution as needed with rate or inventory restrictions.
  • Maximize room utilization on all hotel room types and suites.
  • Receive all definite and tentative group bookings to ensure that all group business is profitable
  • Drive business plan and KPI trackers to ensure hotel success.
  • Monitor and analyze the competition weekly through competitive shops, demand 360, agency 360, to identify selling strategies and emerging trends.
  • Presentation to owners and executives of overall revenue strategies, performance, and market mix variations to stimulate additional revenue without increasing costs.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of any software programs which contribute to the management of revenue.
  • Work on all Revenue Management projects as requested ie. implementing formal End of Month reporting process at each hotel, providing roll up reporting for corporate users and the brand team, etc.
  • Assist with implementation of Revenue Management basics and standards. Implement tools to automate and streamline consultations as well as document action plans.
  • Foster a culture of Revenue Management throughout all departments of the hotel.
  • Develop and implement succession planning for Revenue Management talent

Skills & Abilities    

Knowledge of hospitality sales, marketing and other revenue management functions. This includes research, planning, market positioning, market segments, internal marketing, distribution channels, sales management, reservations and yield management.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with HMS, Duetto, and Sabre
  • Proficient at statistical and competitive analysis.
  • Individual is high energy individual with a positive attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills and possession of a full understanding of professional business ethics, decorum and social skills.
  • Ability to effectively analyze and use operational, financial, and marketing data to maintain and improve market share/penetration goals.
  • Understanding of hotel operations and can associate with their needs through the revenue department.
  • Ability to work well under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to a constantly changing market.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience as a Director of Revenue
