We’re currently in search of an independent thinking, quick-thinking, outgoing and productive Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our Loss Prevention Team at 1 Hotel South Beach. The person in this role will manage all incoming and outgoing package duties related to hotel guests, residents, group conferences, and employee packages.

 

Responsibilities

  • Direct responsibility and oversight of shipping and receiving tasks
  • Receive, log, store, and deliver incoming packages addressed to registered hotel guests, residents, group conference business, and employees
  • Handle outgoing packages for internal and external business
  • Notifies internal and external customers of packages in storage
  • Maintain constant communication via email and/or phone regarding all shipping and receiving matters with guests, residents, and staff
  • Direct communication with guest regarding lost and found items requiring shipping
  • Billing responsibilities for all outgoing packages
  • Ensure all packages being received are not mishandled and/or damaged upon receipt
  • Inform Loss Prevention Leadership of any issues or concerns
  • Conduct a weekly inventory of packages in storage

Qualifications

About you... 

  • Education - High School Diploma required
  • Experience - At least 2 years of experience as mail clerk/shipping and receiving agent, preferably in hospitality

 

Skills Required

  • Must be able to:
    • Speak, read, write, and understand the English language. Spanish is a plus
    • Provide exceptional customer service
    • Provide legible communication and directions
    • Lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs
    • Stand for long periods of time at once
    • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
    • Prioritize and organize.
    • Think clearly, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment
    • Follow directions thoroughly.
    • Understand guest service needs
    • Work cohesively with co-workers and other departments as part of a team
    • Work with minimal supervision
    • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent resort data
    • Use a computer keyboard and possess basic typing skills
    • Possess moderate to advanced computer skills
    • Work in a dynamic and constantly changing environment
    • Adept to multitasking
    • Exceptional time management skills
