OUR OPPORTUNITY

The Development team drives new business opportunities for the company and its various hotel brands, through relationships with owners, developers and other external groups as well as working closely with key internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

What will I be doing?

The Development Analyst will report to the Development Manager at SH Group and will be responsible for completing underwriting on new opportunities. This primary job function requires the ability to assess a hotel market and submarkets from the perspective of a hotel operator, and to generate financial projections including comprehensive returns analysis and management fee valuations.

In this role, the candidate will interact regularly with the Chief Development Officer and other key leadership, as well as business partners in Legal, Design, Marketing, Revenue Management and Finance. Given the nature of the role, the candidate will need to be a self-starter that possesses excellent interpersonal skills and takes initiative.

 

More specifically, you will:

  • Produce market research with keen insights on location, supply/demand and current trends.
  • Generate hotel profit and loss projections and a complete return on investment analysis.
  • Regularly update brand presentations and put together comprehensive pitch decks for competitive RFP processes.
  • Organize internal performance metrics and resources efficiently, and leverage third parties to procure market data as required.
  • Compose emails, memos and internal reports for deal approvals and leadership updates.

  • To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
  • BA/BS Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in hotel real estate or an equivalent analytical field
  • Experience in hotel operations is preferred
  • Understanding of return on investment and valuation concepts
  • Competent computer skills with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Travel less than 25% of the time
